PERRYOPOLIS, PENNSYLVANIA — Frazier School District’s board adopted and published its 2026 meeting calendar, setting a monthly rhythm for work sessions and voting meetings at the district office in Perryopolis. The schedule keeps meetings at 6 p.m. in the administrative office boardroom, 142 Constitution Street, with no meetings in July. The practical effect for families is predictability, since every voting meeting is scheduled to start right after a work session.
According to Frazier School District, the board’s 2026 voting meetings were set for Jan. 19, Feb. 23, March 23, April 27, May 18, June 22, Aug. 17, Sept. 28, Oct. 26, Nov. 16 and Dec. 3. The Dec. 3 meeting is listed as a reorganization and regular monthly meeting, a yearly reset when the board can update officer roles and other housekeeping items. The calendar also shows the work session pattern that feeds into votes, with work sessions dated Feb. 9, March 9, April 13, May 11, June 8, Aug. 3, Sept. 14, Oct. 12 and Nov. 9.
One notable change already on the record is that the Monday, Jan. 12, 2026 work session was canceled, according to Frazier School District. The published roster also clarifies who residents can contact about agenda items and governance. The district lists President Thomas Shetterly, Vice President Michael Tretinik, Secretary Vicki Olexa and Treasurer Megan Hoff, along with members Michaelle Anderkovitch, Alicia Puskar, Melissa Patitucci, Douglas Clingan and Michael Rendina.
Public comments about access have been a recurring theme in recent years, including calls for remote options to make participation easier for working families. "It is 2025! There's no reason not to offer virtual meetings for tax payers and parents who want to know what's going on in the district!" said Lori, petitioner signer. The petition also asks for livestreams, archived recordings and a way to submit public comment remotely, according to Change.org.
The stakes around participation and transparency are not abstract in Perryopolis, where board decisions have previously drawn large crowds. According to 90.5 WESA, about 100 residents attended a 2023 meeting when the board voted unanimously to remove the Frazier Community Library from Frazier High School after a dispute over security and public access. wesa.fm/identity-community/2023-05-18/perryopolis-library-frazier-school), speaking before the vote.
The calendar sets when those debates can happen again, while the district’s planning documents outline what the board says it is trying to accomplish. According to Frazier School District Comprehensive Plan, the district’s mission and long-term priorities emphasize academic rigor, deeper-learning skills, family partnership, inclusivity, integrity and a safe school climate. The next scheduled board work session is June 8, followed by the next voting meeting on June 22, both at the Constitution Street administrative office, according to Frazier School District. Residents can also expect the board’s July break before meetings resume in August.
